Five checks exposed the truth
- Recent cleaning raised a red flag. The engine bay looked unusually clean and recently detailed.
- The rocker-cover inspection found a leak. A small amount of oil was seeping from the rocker-cover gasket.
- Oil residue confirmed it. A small amount of residue was visible on the engine block near the rocker cover.
